Strategy for Introduction of Knowledge Management into Nursing Sector in Hospital

Abstract
Before the entry of knowledge society, a nursing organization in hospital should be able to make a contribution to the differentiation of healthcare service and the creation of competitive advantage through a competitive patient-centered nursing service and the development and security of the core-nursing competency. For this, the study suggests the introduction of the knowledge management into nursing sector in hospital as a strategic approach that can enhance the personal and the organizational added value regarding nurses know-how of knowledge and technology from various clinical experiences as the organizational as well as the personal ability and assets.
The knowledge management in nursing sector is to offer the best nursing service through acquisition, creation, share and application of nursing knowledge. A nurse as a knowledge worker is who enhances his/her value by continuous improvement, development and innovation through his/her nursing work at the clinical field. And who maximizes the productivity of both nursing department and all ones of hospital by informing and sharing new knowledge from nursing experiences to and with other nurses in the same unit or the department.
For a specific strategy for establishment of knowledge management system, the study suggests five approach methods with explaining the Nonakas SECI model to help understanding creation, share, and application of the nursing knowledge. They are; first, the improvement of nursing care delivery process and the standardization and documentation of the work. Secondly, establishing core-nursing competency through the best nursing practices.
Third is to offer a self-directed learning opportunity for a change derivation into a knowledge worker. Fourth, building the knowledge repository using Intranet. The last is suggesting the introducing strategy of incentive for sharing and application of knowledge. Through realization of this knowledge management, the knowledge gap to the nursing can be reduced.
